SOUTH CHINA — Erskine Academy recently announced its top 10 seniors for the class of 2015. Valedictorian is Madison Michaud, daughter of Kim and Ross Michaud, of Vassalboro. Throughout her four years at Erskine, Michaud has completed a variety of community service projects, she has been a member of Student Council and National Honor Society, and she has participated in such activities as the EA Leadership Team, Prom Committee, field hockey, indoor track and lacrosse. She is a Maine Principal’s Association Award recipient and she has participated in the District III Honors Music Festival. Michaud plans to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute to study biomedical engineering.
Salutatorian is Kaitlyn Sutter, daughter of Jenny and Richard Sutter, of Palermo. She is a member of National Honor Society, AFS (Erskine’s cultural awareness group), the EA Leadership Team, and she has participated in such activities as Prom Committee, field hockey, indoor track and softball. In addition, Sutter has completed a variety of community service projects in her school and community and she has received a Renaissance Senior of the Trimester award. She plans to attend the University of Vermont to major in nursing.
Third in academic standing is Justin Davis, son of Karen and James Davis, of Palermo. He has participated in such activities as swim team, golf, Student Council and National Honor Society. He has completed numerous community service projects and he was a 2014 Boys State Delegate. Davis plans to attend Stonehill College with a major in international relations.
Fourth in academic standing is Max Byron, son of Jennifer Byron, of Vassalboro, and Wayne Cohen, of Lomita, California. He has participated in such activities as Drama, Chess Club, the Speech Team, and he is a member of National Honor Society. In addition, he has completed numerous community service projects. Byron plans to attend Bowdoin College to pursue studies in neuroscience.
Fifth in academic standing is Sarah Jordan, daughter of Julia and Douglas Jordan, of Whitefield. Her extracurricular involvement has included such activities as National Honor Society, Drama, Student Council, Prom Committee, FOR (Friends of Rachel) Club, field hockey and lacrosse. In addition, she has participated in a variety of community service projects and she has received a Renaissance Senior of the Trimester award. Jordan plans to major in nursing at the University of New England.
Sixth in academic standing is Avery Bond, daughter of Diane Shostak and Scott Bond, of Jefferson. Her extracurricular activities have included National Honor Society, Business Club, soccer and softball. She has received a Renaissance Senior of the Trimester award and she has participated in a variety of community service activities. Bond plans to attend the University of New England to major in nursing.
Seventh in academic standing is Emma Robertson, daughter of Jane and William Robertson, of China. She has participated in such activities as National Honor Society, the EA Leadership Team, Prom Committee, field hockey, basketball and softball. In addition, she has completed a variety of community service projects in her school and community. Robertson plans to major in journalism at Quinnipiac University.
Eighth in academic standing is Morgan Fowle, daughter of Lori and Evert Fowle, of Vassalboro. She has been a member of the soccer and basketball teams and she has participated in such activities as National Honor Society, AFS (Erskine’s cultural awareness group), and Prom Committee. She has also been a Renaissance Senior of the Trimester award recipient, she was a 2014 Girls State Delegate, and she has completed a variety of community service projects. Fowle plans to attend Connecticut College with a major in international relations and Latin American studies.
Ninth in academic standing is Marissa Chamberlain, daughter of Jennifer and Peter Chamberlain, of China. She has participated in such activities as National Honor Society, soccer and basketball. In addition, she has completed a number of community service projects and she was a 2014 Girls State delegate. Chamberlain plans to major in rehabilitation services at the University of Maine at Farmington.
Tenth in academic standing is Kiley Drummond, daughter of Brenda and Dwaine Drummond, of South China. She has participated in such activities as National Honor Society, Business Club, soccer, basketball and lacrosse. In addition, she has completed many hours of community service projects in her school and community. Drummond plans to attend the University of New Hampshire to major in pre-veterinary science.
