I have lived in Waterville’s Ward 1 for 35 years, followed the dynamics of the city closely and have decided I want to represent this ward on the City Council.

I spent my career as a teacher and principal and retired after 33 years in the same school in Clinton. I then became coordinator of the South End Teen Center.

I taught more than 1,000 students, raised a daughter and tried to be a good role model.

I am a positive person and could always rally my teaching staff of 55 to work together. I am smart, level-headed and realistic. I maintain a sensible budget at home, in my work at the teen center and was responsible for a school budget. My entire career, from my first teaching job at age 21 to today, has been dependent on tax dollars.

I understand the plight of the people and think they need a choice when voting.

I will not engage in any negative actions to win the Ward 1 seat. I will be positive, and speak for the majority I represent. I will make a difference, listen and learn. I will acknowledge every email sent to me.

Change is good. I hope the residents of Ward 1 will support me.
