Fayette selectmen are scheduled to hold a public hearing 7 p.m. Monday at Starling Hall to review a draft warrant for a Sept. 23 special town meeting.
The warrant asks voters if they want to authorize up to a 2.5 percent interest threshold for borrowing.
Town Manager Mark Robinson said in an email, “All indications are that the rate will come in at 2 percent or below.” The town adopted a 2 percent borrowing threshold at the annual Town Meeting June 23.
The warrant for the special town meeting also includes a request from the Fayette School Department to utilize its capital reserve in part and seek a loan for mechanical system upgrades to the heating system and to replace the oil boiler that serves as a back-up heating source for Fayette Central School. The school is heated by a wood pellet boiler installed in 2013.
Selectmen also are seeking approval of a cemetery ordinance.
