After the Good Will-Hinckley board of directors unanimously voted to hire House Speaker Mark Eves, a charter school adversary and critic, as its next president, the board chairman, Jack Moore, may have offered the job to the acting state education commissioner, Tom Desjardin.

I recall there were 19 applicants for that position. So why were the House speaker or acting educational commissioner offered the position?

I thank the governor for protecting taxpayer money, and hope an investigation of the board’s authenticity will be forthcoming before taxpayer money is given to the school.
