Lewiston police are investigating an accident in which a pedestrian was hit and killed by a car Wednesday evening.

WCSH-TV reported that the man was hit on Lisbon Street, near its intersection with Webber Avenue, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The station reported that the section of Lisbon Street between South and East avenues was closed as police investigated.

No other information was immediately available Wednesday night.
