Yes, refugees from Syria must be thoroughly vetted, but shame on all the U.S. governors, including our Gov. Paul LePage, who have refused to accept them.

I want to thank the Maine Council of Churches and J.P. Devine for speaking up.

We should welcome these innocent Syrian refugee families. For now, not knowing how else to help, I’ll send support to relief services. I hope others don’t assume all the people of Maine are as bigoted as our governor.
