Tremendous kudos to the entire cast that performed “The Sound of Music” Nov. 20-22 to sell-out crowds at Messalonskee High School.

From all of the actual performers to the outstanding musicians to the make-up artists and the set and costume designers, it was par excellence.

The performance of this uplifting musical could not have come at a better time. With the Oakland community experiencing one tragedy after another recently, I hope the solidarity of this one event begins to bring healing to a town wrought with deep grief and despair.
