AUGUSTA — A Brooklyn, New York, man was sentenced to 18 months in prison Monday after he pleaded guilty to unlawful trafficking in cocaine, which occurred March 18 in Augusta.

Anthony Englesbobb, 28, who had been indicted in August on two counts of unlawful trafficking in cocaine, was scheduled to go to trial on Monday at the Capital Judicial Center.

Instead, he opted to plead guilty to the March 18 offense, and the second count, which allegedly occurred Feb. 25 in Augusta, was dismissed by the state. Part of the sentence included a $400 fine.

Englesbobb was represented by defense attorney Darrick Banda. The prosecutor was Assistant Attorney General Katie Sibley.
