Regional School Unit 9 plans to hold informational budget meetings next week in Wilton, Farmington and New Sharon as a way to get the public involved in the budget discussion.

The meetings will be held Monday at Academy Hill School in Wilton, Wednesday at the Community Center in Farmington and Thursday at Cape Cod Hill School in New Sharon. All the meetings are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

It is the first year in which RSU 9 has held community informational meetings about the budget. In the past, Superintendent Tom Ward went to selectmen’s meetings in district towns during the budget process.

The budget referendum will be held in June.

RSU 9 consists of the towns of Chesterville, Farmington, Industry, New Sharon, New Vineyard, Starks, Temple, Vienna, Weld and Wilton.

Ward and members of the RSU 9 board of directors will be at each of the meetings to answer questions about the process of formulating the 2016-2017 district budget and to gather community input.
