BATH — The Erskine softball team plated five runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull off a 6-3 come-from-behind victory over Bath in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Friday.
Mackenzie Gayer went 2 for 3 with two walks, two RBIs and a run scored to pace Erskine (8-7) while winning pitcher Kayla Hodgkins — who struck out seven in the circle — was 2 for 5 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Hope Faulkingham had a single, triple and two runs scored to pace Morse (7-8).
CARRABEC 12, HALL-DALE 6: Bailey Dunphy had three hits — including a triple — and five RBIs and the Cobras pulled away for a Mountain Valley Conference win in North Anson.
Bayley Atwood fell a home run short of the cycle and also added two RBIs for Carrabec (11-5) while Mel Clark finished with three singles, one run scored and one RBI.
Isabella Marino and Hailey Taker each had a pair of singles for Hall-Dale (10-6).
RICHMOND 23, RANGELEY 3: The Bobcats plated 15 runs in the fourth inning on their way to a rout of the Lakers in Rangeley.
Meranda Martin gave up five hits and two walks while striking out seven to get the win in the circle for Richmond (14-0), and she also helped her own cause with two singles and two RBIs. Sydney Tilton added two singles and three RBIs in the win.
Michaela Shorey and Natalie Brooks each doubled for Rangeley (4-7).
TELSTAR 8, MONMOUTH 4: Tasha Hart keyed a four-run sixth for Telstar with a bases-clearing triple as the Rebels pulled away from Monmouth in Bethel.
Hannah Anderson had two hits to lead the Mustangs (7-8), while Abby Ferland added a double and Haylee Langlois a triple. Becca Howard had three hits, including a home run, to lead the Rebels (14-2).
BASEBALL
RANGELEY 10, RICHMOND 9: Winning pitcher Ricky Thompson helped his own cause with a grand slam as a part of a six-run third inning as the Lakers prevailed in Rangeley.
Richmond (9-5) nearly tied up the game in the top of the seventh, as Danny Stewart drove in two with a two-out double to cut the deficit to one and proceeded to steal third. That was as close as the Bobcats would get, though, as Thompson got a strikeout to end the game.
Kyle LaRochelle drove in four runs on three hits — including two doubles — for Rangeley (6-5). Tyler Soucy had two hits for Richmond.
ERSKINE 3, MORSE 0: Nate Howard and Zack Glidden combined on a two-hit shutout of Morse in Bath.
Howard went five innings and gave up the two hits while striking out 10. Glidden worked two innings of hitless relief to pick up the save. Caleb Barden hit a two-run double for the Eagles (12-3).
HALL-DALE 11, CARRABEC 1: Ryan Sinclair struck out 14 and hit two triples to lead Hall-Dale in North Anson.
On the mound, Sinclair scattered five hits while walking two. At the plate, he had three hits, while Quinn Stebbins and Tyler Dubois had two hits apiece for the Bulldogs (12-4). Dylan Willette drove in the lone run for the Cobras (7-9).
GIRLS LACROSSE
ERSKINE 10, LINCOLN 3: Christina Hodgkins scored three goals and Katlyn Hustus added two as the Eagles rolled to the KVAC B victory in South China.
Audrey Jordan added a goal and an assist for Erskine. Traviana Higgins, Abby Haskell, Ella Johnston and Jaime Boudreau also scored for Erskine (6-5).
Kaitlyn Darveau had three assists for the Eagles as well. Malorie Weaver had 11 saves for the victors.
Bailey Carson had two goals for Lincoln (2-8).
BOYS LACROSSE
WINSLOW 16, ERSKINE 0: Jimmy Fowler scored seven goals and Bryce Hillier added three more as the Black Raiders scored the KVAC B win at Thomas College in Waterville.
Nick Gurney made 10 saves for the win.
LINCOLN 12, LAWRENCE 9: The Bulldogs built a 5-0 lead but could not hold on in a KVAC B game in Fairfield.
Nate Simmons had five goals to lead Lincoln (6-6) while Liam Cullina and Nolen Michael each scored three goals.
Gunner McAllister had five goals for Lawrence (5-6) while Logan Fortin scored twice.
