Colorado Springs, Colo. — Shane O’Connell, of Winslow, Maine, recently graduated with a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy.

He was also commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Air Force.

While at the Academy he obtained his private pilots license, was a glider instructor, and achieved the dean’s list.

O’Connell will be assigned to Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma for pilot training. His goal is to become a fighter pilot.
