Residents in Bingham-based School Administrative District 13 approved a $3.4 million school budget for 2016-2017 this week.
Voters in Bingham approved the budget 55-30, according to Bingham Town Clerk Jeanette Jacques. Residents of Moscow approved the budget 32-9, according to Moscow First Selectman Donald Beane.
Residents in the district also voted to continue the two-step budget validation process for another three years with residents in Bingham voting 56-28 in favor of the process and residents in Moscow voting 27-14.
The $3,459,508 budget is up less than one percent from the current budget and was given initial approval at a district budget meeting June 2.
It includes a 7 percent increase in the amount of money to be raised locally in Bingham but a 12 percent decrease in the amount of money to be raised in Moscow. The shift is largely due to changes in enrollment and property valuation.
The budget also includes cost of living raises for all teachers and staff.
