A Lewiston man was sentenced Tuesday to 57 months in federal prison after pleading guilty in February to dealing in crack cocaine and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Doug Bixby, 25, will also be subjected to three years of supervised release following the end of his prison term, U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II said in a press release.

According to court records, Bixby was found by Lewiston police in a Pine Street apartment on Aug. 28, 2014, in possession of a sawed-off shotgun, six boxes of shotgun shells, more than 24 ounces of crack cocaine, a digital scale and small plastic baggies.

Bixby was sentenced in federal court in Portland by U.S. District Judge John D. Levy.

The investigation was conducted by the Lewiston Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
