Central Maine Power crews were working Tuesday to determine the cause of a power outage that affected 13,600 customers in Franklin County around noontime, some for more than an hour.
The outage was first reported shortly before noon Tuesday, CMP spokeswoman Gail Rice said. Power was restored to most affected customers within a half-hour of the outage, and power was restored to all customers by 1:13 p.m.
A problem along the transmission line coming from a substation on Farmington Falls Road could be the cause of the outage, Rice said, though crews were working to determine exactly where along the line the problem occurred. There was no word by Tuesday evening whether the cause had been determined.
The outage affected customers in Avon, Chesterville, Farmington, Freeman Township, Highland Plantation, Kingfield, Lexington, New Portland, New Sharon, New Vineyard, Salem Township, Strong, Temple, Vienna and Wilton.
