Two people were stabbed in Bath on Monday night and a neighbor is charged with the assaults following an argument that turned physical, police said.
Brandon Plummer, 34, of Spring Street, is charged with one count of elevated aggravated assault, a Class A felony.
Plummer was arguing with a neighbor about 10:25 p.m. when the disagreement escalated, police said. Plummer allegedly stabbed the 39-year-old man in the arm and back.
Seeing the commotion, another neighbor, 19, attempted to intervene but he too was stabbed, in the hand.
Plummer retreated to his home, where police arrested him without incident and recovered the knife believed to have been used in the attack.
The 39-year-old neighbor was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland and was listed in stable condition Monday night. The 19-year-old was taken to Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick. His condition was not known.
Plummer is being held on $2,500 cash bail at Two Bridges Regional Jail in Wiscasset. Elevated aggravated assault is punishable by up to 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
