FARMINGTON — Adelle Foss scored two goals and Ellie Pelletier added another as the top-seeded Mt. Blue field hockey team subdued No. 8 Brewer 3-0 in a Class A North quarterfinal game Wednesday afternoon.
The Cougars (14-0-1) advanced to the regional semifinals, where they will face No. 4 Skowhegan at 3 p.m. Friday, weather permitting.
“It was a very slow start for us,” Mt. Blue coach Jody Harmon said. “It was one of those games. We are ready for the next challenge.”
MCI 10, ORONO 0: Addi Williams scored three goals to lead a dominant MCI attack in a Class C North quarterfinal game in Pittsfield.
Madisyn Hartley, April McAlpine and Victoria Friend each scored two goals for the Huskies (13-2), which will host Central or Boothbay in a regional semifinal Saturday at 1 p.m.
