FARMINGTON — A Wilton woman was indicted this week on charges of gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact in connection with a 2015 sex case involving a child.

A Franklin County grand jury indicted Tami Ouellette, 43, of Wilton, on felony charges of gross sexual assault, class A, unlawful sexual contact, class B, and visual sexual aggression against a child, class C.

In February 2015, Tami Ouellette, along with her husband, Jamie Ouellette, 38, of Wilton, and Anna LaRochelle, 26, of Anson, were arrested and accused of sexually molesting a child under the age of 14 since July 2014 and forcing the child to watch the adults have sex, according to an affidavit written by Franklin County Detective Kenneth Charles.

Tami Ouellette was charged originally with unlawful sexual contact, class B, and visual sexual aggression against a child, class C; however, those charges were dismissed in September by Franklin County Assistant District Attorney Claire Andrews so the state could pursue an indictment on the more serious charge of gross sexual assault, according to court documents. The basis for pursing the elevated charge was a result of the discovery of “new information,” according to the documents.

A message left for Andrews seeking comment Friday on the details of the new information was not returned immediately.

Jamie Ouellette and LaRochelle pleaded guilty to the charges against them in September. Jamie Ouellette pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual contact, class A; visual sexual aggression against a child, class C; and illegal possession of a firearm, class C. LaRochelle pleaded guilty to charges of visual sexual assault against a child, class C; and unlawful sexual contact, class B.

Jamie Ouellette and LaRochelle entered Alford pleas, which means that they do not agree with the state’s evidence against then, but they conceded that if the case went to jury trials, they could be found guilty.

Jamie Ouellette was scheduled to appear in court at 11 a.m. Friday for sentencing, and LaRochelle is scheduled to appear at 1 p.m. Nov. 14 for sentencing.
