AUGUSTA — City officials have released corrected vote totals from Tuesday’s elections after discovering some votes had not been counted in a preliminary count.
The revised count did not change the outcome of any races, according to Ralph St. Pierre, finance director and assistant city manager. St. Pierre said a tape of vote totals from one ballot-counting machine was not counted in a preliminary count Wednesday. Adding in those vote totals changed the number of votes received by candidates in multiple local races.
The revised vote totals in the three-way race for two at-large spots on the Augusta City Council, won by Mark O’Brien and Corey Wilson, are 5,924 for O’Brien, 3,908 for Wilson, and 2,589 for Jim Paulette.
In the two-way race for an at-large Augusta Board of Education spot, the winner Ed Hastings received 4,023 votes, to Holly Kiidli’s 3,838.
And in the three-way race for the Ward 3 City Council seat, winner Harold Elliott Jr. received 786 votes in topping Stanley Koski’s 718 votes and Jarody’s 416 votes.
The revised totals in a referendum question asking voters to allow the city to borrow $6 million to renovate and expand Hartford Fire Station are 5,229 in favor and 3,682 opposed.
The revised numbers for a referendum question seeking voter approval for $1.3 million for street and sidewalk improvements are 6,213 in favor and 2,741 opposed.
