WALES — Winning pitcher Sadie Waterman had an RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Oak Hill softball team to a 5-4 Mountain Valley Conference victory Tuesday afternoon.
Oak Hill (13-3) trailed 3-1 before scoring two runs in the fourth and two more in the seventh to hand Madison (15-1) its first loss of the season.
Waterman pitched a complete game, striking out four and walking just one.
Makala Smith went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for the Raiders as well.
Tough-luck loser Madeline Wood went 3 for 4 with a triple and an RBI for Madison. Aishah Malloy also had three hits for the Bulldogs.
HALL-DALE 10, MT. ABRAM 8: Isabella Marino had three hits — including a triple — to lead the Bulldogs to an MVC win in Farmingdale.
Grace Begin had two hits for Hall-Dale (7-8), while Jill Whynot added a double.
Mt. Abram fell to 2-14.
MONMOUTH 17, LIBSON 2, 5 inn.: Abby Ferland doubled and drove in three runs while Tia Day doubled twice to lead the Mustangs to the MVC victory in Lisbon.
Hannah Anderson had a triple and an RBI for Monmouth (12-4).
Lisbon dropped to 10-6.
RICHMOND 23, ST. DOMINIC 0, 6 inn.: Meranda Martin had five hits and four RBIs and Cassidy Harriman had a double and five RBIs as the Bobcats rolled in Auburn.
Martin struck out nine and allowed just one hit for Richmond (16-0).
The Saints dropped to 1-14.
GARDINER 7, ERSKINE 6, 13 inn.: Two runs scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the 13th inning, lifting the Tigers to a marathon Kennebec Athletic Conference Class B win in Gardiner.
Kylee Sirois, Jazmin Clary and Logan Granholm each had two hits for Gardiner (15-1), while senior Mallory Bailey had a double.
Erskine (5-10) got three-hit efforts from Taylor McLaggan and Kayla Hodgins and scored twice in the top of the sixth to force extra innings.
BASEBALL
HALL-DALE 14, MT. ABRAM 2, 5 inn.: Seven-run second and third innings lifted the Bulldogs (10-5) in the regular season finale for both teams in Farmingdale.
Akira Warren had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs, while Austin Stebbins and Cole Lockhart drove in two runs each.
Mt. Abram fell to 0-14-1.
RICHMOND 1, ST. DOM’S 0: The Bobcats scored a run in the top of the first and made it stand up for the win in Auburn.
Zach Small tossed a three-hit shutout with five strikeouts for Richmond (14-1). Matt Rines had two of the Bobcats’ three hits, including a double.
St. Dom’s fell to 9-6.
WINTHROP 15, MONMOUTH 5, 6 inn.: Matt Ingram had two hits, including a double, and the Ramblers erupted for eight runs in the second inning en route to the MVC win in Monmouth.
Carson Camick also had a pair of hits for Winthrop (9-6).
Hunter Richardson doubled twice for Monmouth (9-6).
CONY 4, MESSALONSKEE 0: Tyler Dostie had two singles and two RBIs to lead the Rams over the Eagles in a KVAC A game in Oakland.
Kolbe Merfeld and Taylor Heath each had two hits for Cony (4-12). Mike Levesque added a double.
Josh Joy cracked a double for Messalonskee (7-9).
BOYS LACROSSE
CAMDEN HILLS 7, CONY 6: Chad Bickford scored three goals, but it wasn’t enough for the Rams in Augusta.
Nate Foye had two goals, while Zach Whitney added a goal for Cony (7-4). Cam Gallant had 14 saves.
Owen Rokus scored four goals for Camden Hills (9-2).
