WATERVILLE — The Our Hearts Foundation will hold a nonprofit fundraising walk Saturday, Sept. 30, at Centerpoint Community Church, 155 West River Road.
Registration will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the walk at 10 a.m.
The foundation is a department of the Waterville Area Women’s Club that works in partnership with the Hospice Volunteers of the Waterville Area.
The mission of the nonprofit organization is to connect those that have been touched by the loss of a child, from the time of pregnancy, through infancy, childhood and beyond. Members believe that this type of loss affects not only the parents, but also the siblings, family and friends. One of the primary services members provide is financial assistance for memorial services or funeral expenses.
The average minimum expense to families is $500, even after the donated costs local funeral homes typically provide. Members also strive to provide people with information and resources to help them connect with others for help and support.
The registration fee is $20. Those who register before Friday, Sept. 1, can receive a free commemorative T-shirt.
Registration forms are available online at ourheartsfoundation.com.
