Two people were arrested and two others were issued summonses in a drug raid Friday morning in Fairfield that netted authorities cocaine, several bags of crystal methamphetamine, suboxone strips, controlled pills, digital scales, $2,929 in cash, drug-related paraphernalia and drug-related documentation.

Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster said a team with a warrant searched 10 Pleasant St. in Fairfield, the home of Karen Poulin, just after 6 a.m. Friday. Detective Lt. Carl Gottardi II led the team of six deputy sheriffs, three Fairfield police officers and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agent assigned to the sheriff’s office. Also assisting were two Waterville Police Department detectives.

“This has been an ongoing joint investigation by the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office and Waterville Police Department,” Lancaster said in a news release. “This investigation has been relating to the sale of cocaine, crack cocaine, and crystal methamphetamine in the Somerset County and Waterville area.”

He said the investigation has been centered around Holt and people living or visiting the Fairfield address. Karen Poulin has not been charged, Lancaster said.

During the search of the home and people present, police seized about 52 grams of crack cocaine, cocaine, several bags of crystal methamphetamine, suboxone strips, controlled pills, digital scales and $2,929 in cash. The approximate value of the seized drugs is $5,500.

Police arrested Kelvin Staton, 27, of Bronx, New York, and charged him with aggravated trafficking, class A, in crack cocaine; class B trafficking in cocaine powder; and class C possession of cocaine. Staton also was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court.

Erin Holt, 44, of Fairfield, was arrested on outstanding arrest warrants, violations of conditions of release and possession of methamphetamine. At the time of her arrest, Holt was free on bail on unrelated criminal and drug charges in Somerset County.

The people issued summonses at the scene were Darrell Taylor, 45, and Christopher Snow, 28, both of Fairfield, and both charged with possession of suboxone.

Lancaster said that once the seized drugs have been tested and the case is reviewed by the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office, more charges could be brought against Staton, Holt, and others involved in the investigation.

Staton and Holt are being held at the Somerset County Jail in East Madison. Holt is being held without bail for a felony bail violation. Staton is being held in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.

The initial court appointment for all the people involved is scheduled for May 9 in the Somerset County Unified Court.
