LITCHFIELD — Police say they found the dead body of a 47-year-old Litchfield woman in her home early Sunday morning and have taken three male teenagers into custody in connection with her death.
Maine State Police identified the woman, Kimberly Mironovas, late Sunday evening, in a news release from Lt. Walter Grzyb.
They also indicated that Mironovas lived on Hallowell Road, but they didn’t specify at what street address.
They provided little other information about the case, including the identities of the teenagers who have been taken into custody.
“(F)urther information will be forthcoming in court paperwork related to the juvenile proceedings,” said Grzyb.
All Sunday, investigators from the Maine State Police were at a home on 1482 Hallowell Road in Litchfield.
According to Grzyb, Mironovas’ body was discovered at her home shortly after 2 a.m. on Sunday.
Detectives from the Maine State Police and the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office have been investigating the case.
Around 7 p.m., at least five police cruisers were parked outside the small home, which was surrounded by yellow caution tape.
Also at the home was the large white truck of the Maine State Police major crimes unit.
A police officer who was at the scene declined to say anything about the investigation.
A neighbor, who would only identify himself as Bill, said he thought the police came to the house before 3 a.m. on Sunday, but he was not aware of any unusual activity that happened there in the previous day.
Bill did not know the people who lived at the home, he said, but thought that one of them was a woman who appeared to be in her 20s or 30s.
Another neighbor declined to give his name and also said that he didn’t know the residents of 1482 Hallowell Road.
