I am writing to support Alan Plummer’s candidacy for House District 88, covering Chelsea, Whitefield, Jefferson and Nobleboro. Alan grew up in Whitefield and lives in Chelsea; he is uniquely able to understand the needs of these towns. Alan served our country and now champions the rights of veterans. After serving, Alan became a local teacher.
More recently, Alan has become active in affordable and sustainable housing efforts, living his values by pursuing a minimalistic and zero-waste lifestyle. He founded an organization committed to helping people move out of rental space into houses that the homeowner helps build.
Most compellingly, Alan is well-balanced and seasoned. He supports common-sense gun legislation, but as a veteran, he understands the views of responsible gun owners. He advocates realistic change, but also knows there will be struggle and compromise. He will bring a listening ear and nuanced evaluation of the facts to Augusta.
