I will be brief. I said during the public comments last week at the Waterville City Council meeting that, in reference to the Sentinel, “I wouldn’t even let them come in” (“Supporters of Waterville mayor blast opponents, news media over recall effort,” May 15). I regard that as being out of order.

I am allowed my time to opine as are others and the Sentinel is doing their job as they should. At all levels there needs to be freedom of the press and freedom of speech. We need more, not less, input at all levels of governance, and to the Sentinel I say, keep coming back, you are a necessary part of the dialogue.
