PORTLAND — Emily Healy scored a transition goal with 42.9 seconds left in the first overtime to give Cape Elizabeth a 12-11 win over Yarmouth in the Class B state girls’ lacrosse state championship game Saturday.

Healy took a pass from Grace Gillian near midfield as the Clippers’ coaching staff was screaming that the officials had not granted them a timeout before one of the Clippers lost the ball.

Healy raced down the middle of the field and didn’t hesitate, scoring her fifth goal.

Cape (10-5) sent the game to overtime with a free-position goal by Healy with 47 seconds to play and a game-saving save by keeper Erin Foley with 15 seconds left on a close-range shot by Ehryn Groothof, who had scored four goals.

Yarmouth (12-3) had rallied from a 7-4 halftime deficit and led 11-10 on Margaret Elder’s goal with 3:32 to play.
