WATERVILLE — Hundreds flocked to Watervile’s Castonguay Square on Friday for an evening of live music that kicked off the first event of a free summerlong Friday concert series. People camped out on blankets and lawn chairs for the first of four outdoor concerts presented by Waterville Rocks! The Adam Ezra Group opened for Rustic Overtones at 6 p.m. In addition to music, Common Street Arts led a sidewalk chalk drawing activity for younger children. A Stone Fox Farm Creamery truck sold ice cream to help guests keep cool in the heat, and The Proper Pig provided patio seating. The lineup for the next show — scheduled for July 27 — includes Girls, Guns, and Glory, along with the JT Lockwood band. Bands Enter the Haggis and Muddy Ruckus are scheduled to play Aug. 17. The act for Sept. 28, the last date in the series, has yet to be announced.
