GARDINER — Gabrielle Wener scored a basket and made a free throw with 12 seconds left to give Messalonskee the lead and the Eagles held on for a 48-47 win over Gardiner in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A girls basketball action Thursday night.

Wener finished with a game-high 26 points for Messalonskee (5-4) while Kaitlin Seekins and Emily Parent each scored six.

Gardiner (6-3) was led by Bailey Poore with 15 points and Jaycie Stevens with 12.

MARANACOOK 56, BELFAST 41: Gabrielle Green scored 19 points and had 12 rebounds to lead the Black Bears to a victory over the Lions in Readfield.

Grace Dwyer scored 13 points for Maranacook (6-3), while Amanda Goucher and Grace Despres added seven points for the Black Bears.

Grace Fitzjurls led Belfast (0-10) with 15 points, while Lillie Mitchell added 10.

LAWRENCE 56, BREWER 40: The Bulldogs outscored the Brewers 31-16 in the first half on their way to the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Brooklynn Lambert led all scorers with 15 points for Lawrence (5-3) while Megan Curtis added 11.

Brewer (2-7) was led by Rebecca Gideon with nine points.

WATERVILLE 42, MOUNT VIEW 17: Sadie Garling scored 18 points to lead the host Purple Panthers to the KVAC A win in Thorndike.

Madeleine Martin added eight points, 16 rebounds and seven steals for Waterville (10-0).

Hannah Coolen scored 11 points for Mount View (2-6).

MT. ABRAM 42, CARRABEC 40: Senior guard Summer Ross nailed a turnaround field goal with 5.5 seconds remaining in regulation, and the Roadrunners held on for the Mountain Valley Conference victory.

Ross compiled a game-high 18 points for Mt. Abram. (3-6). Madison Phelps added seven points.

Cheyenne Cahill had 15 points to lead Carrabec.

MONMOUTH 57, WISCASSET 19: Kaeti Butterfield and Julia Johnson drained 15 points apiece as Monmouth pounded out the MVC victory.

The Mustangs (6-3) galloped to a 33-12 lead at the midpoint before easing off in the second half.

Sydnie Thayer tabulated a team-leading eight points for Wiscasset (0-9) in the losing effort.

HALL-DALE 47, LISBON 40: Iris Ireland netted a game-high 15 points as the Bulldogs got the MVC win.

Hall-Dale (5-3) only led by one in the first half, and crept ahead over the last two frames. Caden Wills contributed 10 points for the Bulldogs.

Sydnie Plourde led a well-balanced squad of scorers with nine points for Lisbon (1-7).

FOREST HILLS 62, GREENVILLE 49: Parker Desjardins finished with 25 points, including 14 in the second half, to lead the Tigers to the East/West Conference win in Jackman.

Jakob Rivas added 13 points for Forest Hills (8-0) while Hunter Cuddy scored 10.

Greenville (4-4) was led by Chris Caiazzo with 15 points and Jack Morehouse with 14.

LAWRENCE 54, BREWER 40: The Bulldogs outscored the Witches 22-12 in the fourth quarter to earn the KVAC A win in Brewer.

Nick Robertson and Kobe Nadeau each scored 16 points to lead Lawrence (4-4).

Trevor Pearson paced Brewer (3-6) with 15 points.
