Capital Area Technical Center has announced its January Students of the Month.
Jaiden Bowley is a senior from Cony High School in Augusta enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program. She has enjoyed working in the program’s preschool program, My First School. Additionally, she has
spent time shadowing a first-grade classroom at Gilbert School and a third-grade classroom at Lincoln School.
Her instructor, Erin Sirois, said, “Jaiden is reliable and organized. She is a good classmate in the high school room, while also being an excellent co-worker in the preschool room. Her attention to detail and ability to form successful relationships will serve her well in the future,” according to a news release from the technical center.
When she is not in school, Bowley is working for the City of Augusta after-care program, as well as playing softball for Cony. After graduation, she plans to attend Kennebec Valley Community College to get her started on her long-term goal of becoming a clinical therapist.
Gage Henderson is a junior from Erskine Academy in South China enrolled in the Plumbing & Heating program. He has enjoyed being able to try and learn new things in the program. He recently won the plumbing gold medal in the local SkillsUSA competition and will travel to Bangor in March to compete in the State SkillsUSA competition.
His instructor, Nick Smith, said, “Gage has been ready to learn from the first day of class. He asks a lot of questions and makes good eye contact when he is talking or listening to people, letting them know he cares. He is motivated and I believe he will succeed at whatever he puts his mind to,” according to the release
When he is not in school, Henderson can be found working at Diesel Dan’s. Hee plans to attend the Plumbing & Heating program again next year and then a community college to pursue a career in the plumbing & heating industry.
