WATERVILLE — The 2019 May Day Auction, to benefit Northern Light Continuing Care — Lakewood on the Inland Hospital campus, will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Lakewood at 220 Kennedy Memorial Drive, according to a news release from Northern Light Inland Hospital.

Proceeds from the auction fund Lakewood residents’ overnight summer trips to Belfast. A portion of the money raised also supports the Residents Activity Endowment Fund and other needs at Lakewood.

Marie Cormier and her daughter, Karen, undoubtedly will be the highlight of the evening, showcasing their entertaining and energetic personalities while they auction off various donated items, one of which is a Cabbage Island clambake for two, which includes a scenic tour of Boothbay Harbor and ends with a feast of Maine lobsters and clams. Other items include handmade jewelry with sea glass from Antarctica, yoga classes and a Kitchen Aid mixer.

“I am passionate about this cause because sooner or later someone we love may need the services provided by Lakewood. It’s a good reason to tap into the good that is in all of us. It’s fun and entertaining, and what Lakewood provides their residents is sacred,” said Marie Cormier, according to the release.

There’s no cost to attend. For more information, call 873-5125.
