READFIELD — Brooke Stratton homered and drove in four runs as the Maranacook softball team rolled past Mount View 17-5 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday afternoon.
Amanda Goucher tripled and Carolina Bachelder doubled for the Black Bears (7-2).
Mount View dropped to 2-8.
SKOWHEGAN 8, EDWARD LITTLE 2: Amber Merry had an RBI double and Skowhegan broke things open with a six-run fourth inning to take the KVAC A victory in Skowhegan.
Skowhegan (11-0) received another complete game performance from Sydney Ames in the circle. She struck out five.
Jaycie Christopher and Ames also doubled.
Madison Emmert had three hits, including a triple for the Red Eddies (6-5). Emmert scored on an RBI double by Ouellette in the top of the fourth. Ouellette also roped a triple early in the game, but was stranded.
OXFORD HILLS 12, MT. BLUE 3: Bella Devivo hit a grand slam in the top of the fourth to help lift Oxford Hills in South Paris.
Lauren Merrill and Ashley Childs each finished with two hits, including a triple. Haileigh Sawyer also had two hits, including a double. Brooke Carson, Madison Day and Olivia Gallan each had two singles.
Merrill struck out five and allowed eight hits for the Vikings (11-0) while Kiara McLeod came in relief. She struck out two and allowed two hits.
Macy Phillips hit a solo home run in the fifth for Mt. Blue (3-5). Angela Guppy and Sydney Belanger each had two hits for the Cougars.
WINTHROP 11, CARRABEC 0: Layne Audet struck out 14 in six innings on the mound to help the Ramblers take the Mountain Valley Conference win in Winthrop.
Lydia Rice drove in four runs for Winthrop (4-3) and had four hits. Kate Perkins had three hits for the Ramblers.
MONMOUTH 21, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 9: The Mustangs scored in every inning en route to the MVC win in Monmouth.
Abby Ferland had a pair of doubles in the win for Monmouth (6-3), while Taylor Truman added a double and a single. Abby Flanagan, Erin Gosselin and Emma Johnson each finished with two hits.
Saydie Garbarini had two hits, including a double, for Mountain Valley (1-9).
ERSKINE 18, LEAVITT 3: The Eagles erupted for 11 runs in the seventh inning to blow open the KVAC B win in Turner.
Kayla Hodgkins held Leavitt to just four hits while herself collecting a pair of doubles for Erskine (8-4). Chiara Mahoney had three hits, including a double, in the win.
For Leavitt (2-8), Kayla Leclerc had a double and a single to account for half of the Hornets’ hits.
BASEBALL
EDWARD LITTLE 9, SKOWHEGAN 3: Colin Merritt doubled and Ethan Brown pitched a complete game as the red Eddies prevailed in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game in Skowhegan.
Brown struck out 11 and didn’t walk a hitter. Merritt drove in three runs as well for EL (9-3).
Matt Berry had two singles and as many RBIs for Skowhegan (4-7).
MARANACOOK 5, MOUNT VIEW 3: Hunter Glowa doubled and Alex Trafton picked up the victory in relief of Derek Kelley as the Black Bears prevailed in Readfield.
Maranacook plated three runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the victory.
Damien Doughty and Darrett Fowler had two singles for the Mustangs (2-8).
LEAVITT 12, ERSKINE 1: Mark Hermon drove in three runs to lead the Hornets to the KVAC win in Turner.
Darrin Hewitt, Lucas Mortenson and Ryan Thibault drove in two runs each for Leavitt (4-6). Hewitt had a pair of hits, and Eli Lind and Garrett Mollica had doubles.
Joe Clark drove in the run for Erskine (6-6).
BOYS LACROSSE
WINSLOW 16, JOHN BAPST 5: Isaac Lambrecht scored seven goals and Landon Hotham added three as the Black Raiders cruised in Bangor.
Colby Nadeau had two goals and as many assists while Kyle Gurney contributed five assists for Winslow (3-4).
John Fitzpatrick, Colby Brown and Andrew Baker scored for the Crusaders (0-6).
OAK HILL/MONMOUTH/LISBON 17, LAWRENCE 3: Nate Marcotte and Xavier Michaud scored five goals apiece to lift the Raiders (8-0) to a victory in Wales.
Tiger Hopkins scored three goals in the win, while Noah Moring had two and Riley Worth and Levi Sturtavant had one each.
Kristian Larouche , Alex Higgins and Jackson Dudley each scored for the Bulldogs (3-5).
LINCOLN 9, MCI/NOKOMIS 6: Liam Cullina scored four goals and Nolen Michael had three goals with two assists as the Eagles (2-5) defeated the Huskies (2-4) in Newport.
Gardner Skiff added two goals for Lincoln, which took a 6-4 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Beau Briggs scored twice to lead MCI.
GIRLS LACROSSE
CONY 15, EDWARD LITTLE 5: Kami Lambert scored five goals and Sierra Clark added four goals and an assist to lead the Rams to a KVAC victory over the Red Eddies in Auburn.
Faith Leathers-Pouliot and Sydney Avery each scored two goals for Cony (4-4). Sarah Cook-Wheeler had six saves.
Megan Steele led Edward Little (1-5) with three goals, while Lydia Celina added two goals.
GARDINER/HALL-DALE 7, MORSE 6: Michaela Gardner netted the game-winning goal as the Tigers reached .500 with a KVAC win in Gardiner.
Madelin Walker and Emma Bourget scored a pair of goals each for the Tigers (3-3), while Anna Chadwick and Scarlet Raymond-Ayer netted one apiece. Skye Cotnoir made six saves.
Emily Belanger had two goals for the Shipbuilders (3-5), while Sydney Moore, Madlyn McDonnough, Emma Warner and Emma Roth-Wells each had one.
