Voters across the Augusta and Waterville areas went to the polls in Tuesday's referendum to decide the fate of school budgets, ordinances, projects and elect public officials.

    Incumbent selectmen Betty Austin and Paul York returned to office for three-year terms while incumbent school board directors Jennifer Poirier and Karen Smith will return for three-year terms.

    Voters in Tuesday's referendum also elected Andrew Ballantyne as a selectmen, who received 175 votes to David Coons’ 57 votes, and at Wednesday's town meeting approved all proposed budget articles.

    The budget won majority approval in all of the district's six towns except Canaan.
  • Winthrop voters reject $12 million school budget at polls
    The vote rejecting the school spending plan was 350-206 against the measure, according to unofficial election results Tuesday.
  • Anson-based school district residents approve $10.5 million school budget
    The budget passed Tuesday marks the second time voters in the Anson-based school district have considered 2019-2020 funding.

    Longtime Selectwoman Rayna Leibowitz wins by more than a 2-to-1 margin over challenger Darlene Beaulieu.

    Jones, McDonald win Monmouth select board races
    The incumbents were re-elected to serve three-year terms on the board.
  • Lilly defeats incumbent Keene in Dresden selectman’s race
    Unofficial results from Tuesday's election showed Gerald Lilly winning against Dwight Keene, 103-63.
  • Wayne residents decide to keep Wilson Pond land in easement
    Officials will now determine whether the property should be sold to a conservation organization or be kept as a town forest.
  • Chelsea voters elect 6 people to 9 positions
    Chelsea voters rejected the school budget locally, but the $23 million budget passed districtwide.
  • Maranacook area voters approve $18.6 million budget
    Each town approves spending plan, up 3.75% from current spending.
  • Voters overwhelmingly approve $23 million Chelsea-Windsor area school budget
    Despite being rejected in two towns, the RSU 12 budget passed with 67% of voters approving.
  • Somerville voters elect two selectman
    Despite opposing RSU 12's $23 million budget, the budget passed by a large margin in five of seven member towns.
