WATERVILLE — Trails at the Quarry Road Recreation Area are getting ready for another after-school program for all ages and abilities.

It won’t be long before a fresh blanket of snow arrives and the snow groomer will be out on the trails.

Programs have been set up for students from kindergarten to eighth-graders led by experienced trained coaches.

Equipment, including skis, boots and poles, are available for seasonal lease. Individuals will be able to keep them for the entire winter and if registered by Dec. 1 will have an option for the best available equipment.

Other programs are being offered to older and more advanced skiers that join the Central Maine Ski Club’s middle school (grades 5-8) and high school ski teams. There are several program passes to consider.

Quarry Road is also offering learn-to-ski programs for all ages. Equipment rentals and private lessons for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing are available for all ages, according to Matt Skehan, director of Waterville Parks and Recreation.
