Susan Collins has betrayed her oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States, and in doing so has betrayed the people of Maine.
The Constitution describes the impeachment process for lawmakers and government officials, not private citizens.
The former president cannot be impeached, as he is a private citizen and no longer a government official. The entire impeachment process was not constitutional.
Susan Collins voted to continue impeachment and voted to convict the former president, both votes against the dictates of the Constitution. Regardless of her personal opinions, Collins has a sworn duty to follow the dictates of our Constitution. She has failed her duty and she has failed the people of Maine.
