WINSLOW — The Winslow Town Office will be closed for at least the rest of this week due to a COVID-19 exposure, officials announced Monday morning.
A town employee was exposed to the coronavirus and was expected to be tested Monday, according to Town Manager Erica LaCroix.
LaCroix said the town’s department heads will work from home for the rest of the week, and maybe longer.
“All meetings that are held on Zoom or other electronic platforms will continue as scheduled,” town officials wrote on Winslow’s Facebook page. “The town office will tentatively reopen on Monday, April 5, pending negative testing. If any employee tests positive, this time could be extended.”
The Winslow Fire Department, Police Department and Parks and Recreation Department are not included in the closure because they operate from other facilities.
Close contacts within the Town Office or other municipal employees have been notified if they should be tested for COVID-19.
Waterville City Hall will handle vehicle registrations for Winslow residents while the Town Office is closed.
Meantime, code enforcement and permitting will be delayed in Winslow.
