PALMYRA — A St. Albans man faces several charges after law enforcement officers allegedly found drugs in his car following a motor vehicle stop on Wednesday.

Jason Lary, 40, is charged with three counts of class A aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs, one count of class B unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs and one count of class C operating after habitual offender revocation.
In a news release, Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster said that Deputy Logan Roberts and Deputy Ian Shalit were on patrol in Palmyra on Wednesday when they observed a green GMC pickup truck with a loud exhaust traveling westbound on U.S. Route 2, heading onto the Lang Hill Road.
“While the deputies were interacting with Lary, they observed illicit drug residue and drug paraphernalia in the interior of the truck,” Lancaster said in the release.
After the deputies ran his license, they discovered that his license had been revoked and had a habitual offender status. A female was also in the vehicle but was not charged.
A search of the vehicle yielded 118 grams of cocaine, 152 grams of fentanyl, 108 grams of crack cocaine and 27 grams of methamphetamine. All drugs tested positive with a presumptive field test. Also, $4,000 in cash was seized during the search.
Lary remains at Somerset County Jail where bail has been set at $80,000 cash with special conditions including not to use or possess illegal drugs and being subject to search and tests.
His appearance before the Somerset County Unified Criminal Court is scheduled for Aug. 18. Additional charges may come after review from the Somerset County District Attorney’s Office.
