MADISON — Brooke McKenney tossed a no-hitter, striking out 13, to lead Madison past Spruce Mountain 11-0 in a softball game Monday afternoon.
McKenney also had a triple, a single, three RBIs and scored four runs for Madison (4-0). Arabel Linkletter added a double, two singles, two RBIs and scored three runs while Landyn Landry and Hailey Paquet each had two singles. Paquet also had three RBIs.
VALLEY 21-19, FOREST HILLS 0-0: Logan McDonald and Jada Ward each tripled to lead the Cavaliers in Bingham.
Madeline Hill, McDonald and Brielle Hill also doubled for Valley (2-0).
In Game 2, Brielle Hill and Cylee Pratt combined to throw a no-hitter for the Cavaliers. Hill struck out 11 in four innings. Lucy McDonald and Logan McDonald each doubled.
SKOWHEGAN 15, CONY 1: Five players hit home runs as the River Hawks prevailed in Augusta.
Reese Danforth, Kiara Warren, Riley Fitzpatrick, Emily Dunbar and Marrif Morris homered for Skowhegan (4-0). Maddy Morris doubled and had three hits.
Haylee Cyr had a pair of hits for Cony (0-3).
HALL-DALE 11, WINSLOW 2: Zoe Soule had four hits, including a triple, to lead the Bullogs to a victory over the Black Raiders in Winslow.
Ashlynn Donahue smacked a home run and earned the win in the circle for Hall-Dale (4-0). Rita Benoit had a double, while Sarah Benner added a triple for the Bulldogs.
Karlie Ramsdell had three hits for Winslow (1-3).
WATERVILLE 19, MCI 7: Gillian Poulin homered to pace the Purple Panthers to the win in Waterville.
Poulin finished with three hits while Rylee Lint added two hits for Waterville. Raylee Gilbert doubled.
MESSALONSKEE 12, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Morgan Genness had three hits including a triple, drove in two runs and scored three to lead the Eagles in Oakland.
Jordan Lambert had two hits and an RBI for the Eagles (2-1) while Kate Douglass and Morgan Wills combined for a one-hitter with nine strikeouts.
Mckenzi Horton had a single for Edward Little (2-3) in the sixth inning.
BASEBALL
RICHMOND 17, BUCKFIELD 1: Andrew Vashon had five RBIs and winning pitcher Cole Alexander had two singles and two RBIs to lead the Bobcats in Richmond.
Alexander struck out eight and walked one.
GARDINER 11, WINTHROP 1: Kyle Adams had three hits and Noah Reed tripled to lead the Tigers in Gardiner.
Chase Kelley and Alex Grover each had two hits for Gardiner (1-2).
MADISON 5, WATERVILLE 4: Aiden Ostiguy had two hits to lead the Bulldogs in Waterville.
Bryce Willette picked up the win on the mound for Madison.
Liam VonOesen had two hits for the Purple Panthers.
SKOWHEGAN 9, CONY 4: Kyle Douin and Kam Douin each homered, but it wasn’t enough for the Rams in Augusta.
Winning pitcher Ben Morgan had a pair of hits for the River Hawks (2-0).
The Rams dropped to 2-2.
LISBON 11, CARRABEC 1: The Greyhounds received strong pitching from Nick Ferrence and Levi Tibbetts in a six inning game against the Cobras in Lisbon.
Ferrence went five innings and striking out nine while Tibbetts came in relief striking out one. Neither allowed a hit.
Levi Tibbetts had three hits including two doubles and driving in two. He also scored three times. Feerence had two hits and drove in three. Hunter Brissette had two hits including a double while Neil Larochelle and Mason Booker had a double for Lisbon (3-1).
Bobby Lindblom scored Carrabec’s (0-5) only run in the fifth inning on a fielder’s choice.
MONMOUTH 8, MARANACOOK 2: A six-run sixth inning disrupted a pitchers’ duel and lifted the Mustangs in Readfield.
Cam Armstrong pitched six innings and struck out 11 for Monmouth (4-0), while Sam Calder had a pair of hits.
Cody Smith threw 5.1 innings for the Black Bears (0-2) and struck out seven, while Thomas Trafton had two singles.
WINSLOW 11, HALL-DALE 1: Nate Newgard had a pair of hits to help lead the Black Raiders to the victory in Winslow.
Reid Gagnon added a double for Winslow (3-1), which broke open the game with a seven-run fourth.
The Bulldogs fell to 1-3.
MT. ABRAM 6, MT. BLUE 2: Wyatt Sieminski doubled among his two hits for the Roadrunners in Farmington.
Gabe Emery had a double and a RBI in the victory. Ben DiBiase went five innings to pick up the win, striking out four and allowing three hits.
Sam Wrigley and Jack Kearing had doubles for Mt. Blue. Jackson Joyce went seven innings for the Cougars and struck out nine.
GIRLS LACROSSE
MESSALONSKEE 19, MCI/NOKOMIS 1: Journey Charles scored four goals and Jenna Casani and Shauna Clark each added three to lead the Eagles in Oakland.
Clark and Cassani each had two assists as well.
Madi Doody and Gaby Smart scored two goals for Messalonskee as well.
ERSKINE 13, MT. BLUE 5: Sarah Praul scored four goals and added two assists to lead the Eagles.
Liz Hardy and Bella Smith each had two goals for Erskine as well.
Eryn Parking scored two goals for the Cougars.
NYA 14, GARDINER 6: Emma Sharpe had six goals and an assist, Lilly Weinrich added five and three assists and the Panthers (2-1) controlled the game defensively and came out with a win over the Tigers (1-1) in Gardiner.
Goalie Ally White made 13 saves for NYA.
Emma Bourget had four goals for Gardiner and Lilly Diversi had two. Skye Cotnoir stopped 12 shots in goal.
BRUNSWICK 14, CONY 4: Regan Bechard scored two goals for the Rams in a loss to the Dragons in Brunswick.
Azabell Assass added two goals for Cony (3-1).
Emily Cloutier led Brunswick (3-1) with four goals and an assist, while Gwen Thom added three goals.
