Current Town Manager Richard Davis announced in February he will be retiring Aug. 27. That date is the 20th anniversary of his hiring.

The 6:30 p.m. meeting will be held downstairs at the Community Center, 127 Middle Street. Masks and social distancing will be required.

It is being organized and facilitated by Don Gerrish from Eaton Peabody Consulting Group of Bangor, Davis said Tuesday.

Davis said he did not ask Mt. Blue Community Access TV to livestream the meeting.

“I’m not going to be there,” he said.

The meeting will gather information regarding the community’s thoughts on the major issues and challenges facing Farmington in the next 5 years. People will also be able to express what qualities, education, background and experience the new town manager should possess to manage the town and meet the issues and challenges facing Farmington.

The process selectmen will follow in selecting the next manager will be presented by Gerrish.

Selectmen are encouraging anyone who would like to their express opinions on the hiring process to attend, and if they cannot, to email their questions and comments to dgerrish@eatonpeabody.com.
