MADISON — Waterville pounded out 13 hits on its way to beating Madison 8-2 in baseball action Tuesday.
Joe Hamilton, Liam Von Oesen, Alex Spaulding and Brandon Bearce and Elias Nawfel each had a multiple-hit game for the Purple Panthers (4-5). John Nawfel added a double while Von Oesen picked up the win on the mound.
Joe Harper had two singles for Madison (1-6) while Thomas Dean doubled.
SOFTBALL
MONMOUTH 10, RICHMOND 5: Grace Levesque doubled and tripled among three hits to lead the Mustangs to the victory in Richmond.
Erin Gosselin and Emma Johnson also had three hits apiece, while Gosselin had two doubles and Johnson had one. Maddie Herr had two hits and a double for Monmouth (10-2).
Richmond fell to 5-3.
VALLEY 18-29, FOREST HILLS 6-6: The Cavaliers swept an East/West doubleheader to improve to 8-0 for the season.
In the first game, Madeline Hill and Surata Wright had four hits each, while Logan McDonald (triple), Emily Collins, Jada Ward (home run) and Victoria Beane all had three. In the second game, Kara Bigelow, McDonald and Collins all had three hits, with Collins and Hill hitting doubles.
Forest Hills (0-6) got a triple from Angie Rodriguez and a double from Hailey Hill in the first game, and a home run from Rodriguez in the second.
GARDINER 9, WINTHROP 2: Devin Clary had three hits, including two doubles, as the Tigers beat the Ramblers in Gardiner.
Taylor Takatus also had three hits, including a triple, for Gardiner (8-0). Maddie Farnham and Corrine Vasvary each had two hits.
Sydney Harrison had two hits for Winthrop (4-4).
