PITTSFIELD — International boarding students at Maine Central Institute plan to host the annual International Food Festival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, May 23, on MCI’s Boutelle Savage front campus.
The public is invited to sample foods from more than a dozen countries, prepared by students, faculty, and staff.
In case of inclement weather, the event will take place in the Parks Gymnasium with observance of indoor social distancing guidelines and with limited capacity. Masks must be worn.
The suggested donations are $2 for students, $4 for adults, $1 for children, and $10 for families.
The MCI community has since 2007 held the festival to celebrate the rich cultural diversity of students and faculty who come to the school from many countries and regions around the world. International students and advisors plan and prepare food offerings, feature music and entertainment from their home countries, and develop promotional materials for the event.
MCI’s annual International Food Festival is a way for students to give back to the community that has welcomed them, by providing a family-oriented celebration for area foodies and friends of MCI.
