ATHENS – David G. Todd, 80, of Athens, passed away on June 11, 2021 .

He was born in Guilford on Oct. 22, 1940, the son of Glendon D. and Alice L. (Russell) Todd.

David was a lifelong train lover, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was employed at Norwalk Shoe, North Anson Reel, later at Sonoco Products Company in North Anson as a chipper operator. He retired in 2001.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna Todd; by his daughter, Ginger Todd; by his grandchildren Sarah Edgerly and Todd Edgerly. He is also survived by his sisters Dianna, Sylvia, Cecile, Hope and Vyrona, by his brothers, Russell and Andrew; several nieces, nephews; and many great friends.

David was predeceased by daughter, Kathyleen Edgerly; sisters Glendine, Lillian and Loretta.

A graveside service will be held on July 10 at 10 a.m. in Mount Rest Cemetery in Athens.
