WINTHROP — Madeline Wagner scored two goals, lifting the Winthrop field hockey team to a 6-0 season-opening victory over Dirigo Wednesday.
Maddie Perkins added a goal and two assists, while Izzy Folsom, Lauryn Wood and Autumn Gerry also scored. Bella Littler and Julia Letourneau had assists.
Elle Folsom and Madison Weymouth (one save) split goaltending duties for the Ramblers.
LEAVITT 2, CONY 1: Ava Gagnon scored both goals, including the game-winner in the fourth quarter, to lead Leavitt to the KVAC victory in Augusta.
Eve Martineau assisted on both goals for Leavitt (1-0), and Paige DeMascio made four saves.
Mallory Audet scored the Rams’ lone goal on an assist from Caroline Hendrickson in the third quarter, and Taylor Prebit stopped three shots in front of the Cony net.
MOUNTAIN VALLEY 3, OAK HILL 0: Taylor Duguay factored into all three goals as the host Falcons shut out the Raiders in Rumford.
Duguay scored one goal and added two assists, Autumn Freeman had a goal and an assist, and Abby Jones had the other goal for Mountain Valley (1-0) in the season opener. Brooke Brown made three saves for the shutout.
Sierra Lang made 30 saves for Oak Hill (0-10), which was out-cornered 20-2.
