The moon shows a partial eclipse early Friday morning, seen from Kennenbunk. The duration of the partial eclipse was three hours, 28 minutes and 24 seconds, the longest in 580 years, according to Space.com. Because of overcast skies in southern Maine, however, the partial eclipse was not visible until near its end, around 5 a.m. The partial eclipse happened during a full moon, known as the Beaver Moon or Frost Moon.
