DAMARISCOTTA — River Arts is temporarily closed. Because of the pandemic surge in the region, the gallery has decided that in order to protect the health of its artists, volunteers, staff and customers, River Arts will remain closed through Feb. 4 and reopen Saturday, Feb. 5.

River Arts has changed the entry deadline for the upcoming “Black & White” show to Saturday, Feb. 12. Drop-offs can begin Feb 5.

The show is open to members and nonmembers. All mediums are welcome. Architect and painter Jack Silverio will be the juror.

Artists can enter two pieces with a size limit of 48 inches (in any direction) including frame. Works must be delivered in person to River Arts, 36 Elm St., for jurying.

For members the entry fee is $15; for nonmembers it is $30. All submitted works must be for sale and River Arts retains 35% commission on sold works.

“Black & White” will run from Tuesday, Feb. 15 to Saturday, March 26.

Because of the closure, the Artists’ Group meeting scheduled for Jan. 13 is cancelled. The Artists’ Group is a monthly social group for artists to discuss art, life as an artist, and to get opinions on work-in-progress. The next Artists’ Group meeting will be advertised on its website.

River Arts winter hours will resume Feb. 5 and will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
