I tuned in Feb. 10 to watch Gov. Mills deliver the State of the State address, and I could not help but to feel embarrassed for the people that reside in Benton, Albion, China and Unity. That feeling of embarrassment came as a result of their representative in the House being shown on camera on about six occasions. Only once did he appear to be paying attention to anything being said by Gov. Mills.

I can understand sitting on your hands versus clapping when the Democrats clap for the governor’s achievements. But to sit there with a look of disinterest and disgust on your face while texting is way over the top as far as I am concerned. How can you debate the issues if you refuse to listened to the other party’s positions?

I feel bad that this kind of disrespect has found its way into the Maine’s Capitol and I know many people personally that reside in the aforementioned towns and there is no question in my mind that they do not condone such actions as those displayed by their state representative.
