East Madison is celebrating its 18th East Madison Days weekend from Friday through Sunday, July 15-17. All events will take place at either the East Madison Grange on Grange Road or the East Madison Historical Association building at 1108 East Madison Road. Events kick off on Friday at the Grange with an art show opening at 6:30 p.m., followed by an open mic night at 7 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, according to a news release from Sue Lahti.

The art show continues from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. A public luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Grange.

At the East Madison Historical building there will be a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.Saturday. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. a book talk with Bob Clement is planned. He will have his latest book “Ghost Writer” available to purchase. From 1 to 4 p.m. at the EM Fire Station on East Madison Road, there will be an Antiques Appraisal Fair with Lee Glynn. Folks can bring up to two items for Glynn to appraise. Suggested donation is $5 per item.

The popular silent auction will be held throughout the weekend. Items are being added daily and currently include homemade breads, pies, cheesecakes, apple or other trees, gift certificates to local businesses, concert tickets and more. Winners will be announced after Sunday’s luncheon at the fire station.

On Sunday the art show will conclude at 3 p.m. at the Grange. There will be the traditional hot dog/dynamite luncheon at the fire station with a variety of salads. Dessert will be ice cream sundaes.

Throughout the weekend tickets for a self-guided garden tour will be sold. The tour is set for 1-5 p.m. July 24, and ticket holders will be able to visit 10 or more local gardens. A listing is available by emailing eastmadha@gmail.com.
