River Arts in Damariscotta has issued a call to artists for the summertime show “Land and Sea.” Members and nonmembers can submit one piece for consideration until 4 p.m. Saturday, July 23.
Artist Eric Glass will serve as juror for this show.
Artists can enter one piece with a size limit of 42 inches (in any direction) including frame. “Land & Sea” is open to personal interpretation by the artists and can include realistic as well as abstract works. Mediums include painting, sculpture, fiber, photography, ceramics, original print making, drawing, encaustic and pastel.
The accepted list of artists will be posted at riverartsme.org and River Arts’ Facebook page by Wednesday, July 27.
A lifelong Maine resident who grew up in Freeport, Glass began painting at the age of 10. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Maine College of Art with a major in painting. In addition to his work in oil and watercolor, Glass has also done sign painting, decoy painting, screen printing, woodworking, illustration and picture frame restoration. He has taught painting privately and in community education programs.
Glass has assisted in painting workshops with Michael Vermette. He has been featured in many exhibits and art auctions over the years. For more information, visit ericeglass.com.
The exhibition will run from Tuesday, July 26, throughl Saturday, Sept. 3. A public reception is set for 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 30.
