James F. Fairservice Sr.

WEST GARDINER – James F. Fairservice Sr., 57, of West Gardiner, a proud veteran of the Maine Army National Guard, passed away Friday, July 22, 2022, unexpectedly. 

The son of Michael and Carolyn Fairservice, James grew up in Whitefield. He was born Sept. 18, 1964, in Belfast and later adopted by Michael and Carolyn of Whitefield. He attended Gardiner Area High School. At the age of 17, James enlisted in the Maine Army National Guard. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. As part of this service, James was deployed to Afghanistan from 2009 – 2010.

He was predeceased by his son, K.C. Fairservice. 

James is survived by his parents, Michael and Carolyn Fairservice; his wife, Christy Fairservice; four sons, Hannibal Kane and his partner Brianna, James Fairservice Jr. and his partner Coleen, Michael Fairservice, and Nick Jacobs and wife Rebecca; two daughters, Shelby Edwards and her husband Timietheus, and Phoebe Fairservice; brother, Michael Fairservice II, and sister, Jessica Fairservice; six grandchildren Cassidy, Alexander, Coen, Jason, Mathayus, and Marek; his dog Donny, and an army of brothers and sisters in the Maine Army National Guard. 

His loved ones will remember a humble man who asked for so little but gave so very much.

Visiting hours will be held at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, on Friday, July 29, from 4-7 p.m. A graveside service will be held for family, close friends and military members, will be held at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, in Augusta at a later date.
