SKOWHEGAN — Cyndi L. French of Winslow, Peter Lyman of Norridgewock, Roger Chamberland of Skowhegan and Jared Perkins of Skowhegan have been named Melvin Jones Fellows by the Lions Clubs International Foundation in recognition of their commitment to serving the world community.

Named for the founder of Lions Clubs International, Melvin Jones, the fellowship is one of the foundation’s highest recognitions, honoring the commitment to humanitarian service, according to a news release from the foundation.

All recipients are members of the Skowhegan Lions Club. They recently received a commemorative plaque and lapel pin acknowledging their dedication to the foundation’s humanitarian goals.

As a Melvin Jones Fellow, the four members have become a part of the growing network of individuals who are committed to improving the quality of life for people locally and in communities around the world.
