The Albion Lions is set to hold its annual yard sale Friday through Sunday, Sept. 23-25, at 17 Main St. There also will be a 50/50 raffle to be drawn on the last day of the sale.
Organizers ask residents to donate any items they are no longer using. Everything must be in good working order. Items not accepted include air conditioners, dehumidifiers, large appliances, tires, propane tanks, TV’s, paint, computer monitors, mattresses or clothes/shoes.
This is its largest fundraiser and 100% of the proceeds will be used locally for charitable purposes such as:
• The Giving Tree at Christmas. For over 30 years the club has provided children, in need, with toys and clothes at Christmas time. Usually between 30 and 50 children from 18 to newborn.
• The Senior Thanksgiving Dinner: Any Albion resident 70 or older, and their spouse/companion will have a free Thanksgiving dinner served at the Besse Building. If unable to attend, it will be delivered.
• Scholarships for graduating seniors.
• And other charitable needs that arise during the year.
To arrange a pick-up, call Leonard Dow at 207-692-4842 or Gail Drake at 207-837-9017. Items also can be dropped off at 17 Main St, after calling one of the provided numbers.
