The new season of performances and entertainment for 2022-23 will include music, magic, illusion, dance and comedy at The Franco Center in Lewiston.
“The diversity of entertainment and events this season includes exceptional artistry to present patrons with unforgettable moments while they enjoy live performances with family, friends, and co-workers,” said Elaine Roop, board president. “We are delighted to enrich the lives of those in our community with many types of entertainment. We could not be more excited to bring national and international touring artists to the region.”
Musical shows include the tribute bands Echoes of Floyd (Oct. 8); Runnin’ Down a Dream – Tom Petty Tribute (Nov. 19); and Studio Two – A Beatles Tribute (March 31). December holiday events include Don Campbell Christmas concert (Dec. 16); and Sights & Sounds of Christmas (Dec. 17 and 18). Classical concert favorites include Schooner Fare (Feb. 3); and Josee Vachon (March 4).
Susan Spellman, Franco Center box office staff, said, “Personally, I am especially excited to have Schooner Fare coming to Franco! They are one of my favorites! Great Maine folk music!”
Other events include “The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron?” Comedy (Oct. 6); magic and illusion with Magic of the Steelgraves (Nov. 12); and Silver Circus (April 8). Fright Night (Oct. 25, 26, and 27) will offer a walk through the Franco Center’s crypt complete with costumed actors and other scary props.
Cultural programs include the free Parlez Vous? French conversation club held every other Thursday, and La Rencontre, a Franco heritage event held four times a year with socializing, entertainment, and lunch (Dec. 8, March 9, and June 22).
